Reworking an Existing Set of Stairs?

When we have a project that involves stairs or steps we always recommend natural stairs. Whether our client is looking for a more natural step or a clean modern look, guillotine cut steps, stone slabs, or natural cut steps are a great choice. They will last forever, and they weather very well. They come in several options: sandstone, granite, and ledge stone. Of course, adding pavers gives those options a great look with the contrast of a natural and man made appearance. The granite is salt and pepper. It is important that the granite is natural or heat treated and not polished because it could be slippery in the rain. With steps bigger is always better. The steps pictured are 3–4′ wide and 24–36″ deep. They are very heavy and weigh up to 300–400 pounds each. Once they are installed properly they do not move.
